Fabulous Friday June 4: What’s made your week?

Nikki ParkinsonFashion 8 Comments

Welcome to Fabulous Friday.  Every week, I share a little about my week, the good stuff (I’m not into the negative), a little retail therapy and a few fun moments.  Then it’s your turn.  What made your week?  Did you find a fashion bargain?  See a great movie?  Read an inspirational book?  Let me know by leaving a comment below.  Best comment wins a surprise gift.

1.  Awards.  Feeling quite ceremonious. Last night I was up for the Sunshine Coast Style Awards (along with 30 other glam Coast women) and last Friday I received seven nominations for the Sunshine Coast Business Woman of the Year awards.  SO feeling the love and support right now – and so much of it comes from my girlfriends.  Thank-you!  Oh, and here is the Tulipani Nero dress I wore to the Style Awards (except … mmm mine was obviously a little longer!).

2.  Girlfriends.  I don’t know about you but the first half of the year has been crazy.  There just has not been enough time to hang out (and drink champagne) with my besties.  Today, I’m getting to do that in a little pre-birthday gathering at The Wine Bar in Maroochydore.  I’ve been officially let off the school pick-up run (thanks husband) and I may be home by dinner!  Wish all my Twitter, Facebook and blogging friends could be there too … will send you virtual drinks.

3.  Sex and the City 2.  Last night’s Style Awards included a screening of SATC 2. Oh, the glamour, oh the fun, oh the shoes.  Forget what so-called critics and saying.  It’s pure escapism and I enjoyed the ride with “my girls”.   Keeping with the theme, check out Lydia Jewel’s SATC micro collection and tell me which SATC girl you are.

4.  Jessica Watson.  It’s my birthday on Sunday and even though I’ve created a four-day festival for myself leading up to the main event, I’m happy to share the limelight with Jess (TRULY, I am).  She’s sailing into her (and my) home port of Mooloolaba and I’ll be on the beach at Alexandra Headland enjoying fish and chips with my family.  Happy days.

So, tell me … what’s made your week.  I’d love to know.

  4. Hi Nikki,

Here’s witching you a wonderful birthday filled with precious people, magic moments and joy!

My week has been fabulous every day. I got some work done and got paid for it, took my Mum shopping, cooked some delicious meals, did yoga and singing lessons, talked to my two beautiful sisters and my two gorgeous daughters, gave my son driving lessons, and spent time with my lovely hubby.

Now I look forward to Monday when I get to tap into your wealth of knowledge and learn a little more about online marketing, blogging and all that!

  5. Hi Nikki
All week I have been smiling inside and out as I became an Australian Citizen last Sat 29 May where there was a huge ceremony with Anna Bligh, Camble Newman and more, with music, fire and dance to celebrate the Ceremony of 700 citizens plus the start of Queensland Week. It was very emotional and moving for me and I loved sharing it with loved ones and friends. What also made my week was having a big splurge of retail therapy 😉 Well… it’s not EVERY day one becomes an official Aussie Citizen. x Evie aka Sheila

  6. Hiya beautiful Nikki…
Happy birthday you darling woman… cant wait to share some bubbles at the Wine Bar with you and the gorgeous gals who love you. What has made my week? An amazing nomination for Fleur and I for the Sunshine Coast Business Women of the Year awards. That truly made our week hun… And although we havent been in business for a year (the minimum to register) we felt truly humbled we have been nominated so soon and hopefully we might get another shot in 2011! Love what you do gorgeous xx
