Napoleon Perdis Astro Girl Prismatic Eyeshadow Quads $49

The facts: Launched in February 2010 “Astro Girl” is Napoleon Perdis’ latest spellbinding makeup collection inspired by astrological colours and celestial style.  The line consists of four limited edition Prismatic Eye Shadow Quads.  Air signs boast excellent communication skills, while Water signs are among the most intuitive thinkers of the zodiac.  Each of the new Napoleon Perdis shadow quads encapsulates these traits with a tempting array of shades. The pigment rich shadow colours have a shimmering luminosity and can be applied wet or dry.

The review: Holy horoscope!  Mention horoscope and you have me interested.  Cleverly Napoleon Perdis have created four compacts aptly named Fire, Air, Water and Earth containing four colours to match the zodiacs personality.  i’m a Scorpio but I’m happy to be putting Astro Girls Water to the test. It’s all about packaging for me, otherwise I don’t even go any further. Astro Girl has that sorted.  The weighty case gives a sense of opulence and the clear case compact I like as I don’t need to open it to see the colours that are inside.  When you do open the compact containing four shimmering shades,  you also find a user friendly round mirror and, not one, but two applicators which gives no excuse for smudging colours together on the brush and getting that dirty look.

The quad’s balance of colours is pleasing. A pearl highlighter, a darker grey shade and two fun colours – blue and pink – to encapsulate summer all in the one palate.  The product glides on with ease and doesn’t sprinkle down your cheeks as you apply it so there is one rung on the board.  Another plus is you can layer the colours without accidentally wiping the under layer off.  The key to a great product is how it looks after a few hours and this is where Astro Girl takes the cake as the shimmering shadows settles down and doesn’t simple disappear when you look in the mirror  later that afternoon.  Napoleon Perdis Astro Girls’ Water will be taking a place in my makeup bag.
