I take my style hat off to the growing number of fashion labels addressing the need for fashionable clothing above size 16. Thankfully, certain sectors of the industry are realising that just because a woman is a certain size doesn’t mean she’s not keen to keep up with trends – and feel good about what she’s wearing.
I’ve worked with clients sized from 6 upwards and what I’ve found most consistent across ALL shapes and sizes is that women have a simple desire: to feel comfortable, confident … and not appear older than they actually are.
The latest to come to my attention is m line. This collection is found in Maggie T stores Australia wide and in Melbourne and Sydney City Myer stores.
Sizing is from 12-24 and garments are perfect for adapting from work to play. White shirts, vests, skinny leg jeans (yes!) and sequinned tanks enable you to create a relaxed, yet glam look. It’s fashion with a healthy dose of attitude.
What I love about this collection is that, yes, the sizing is helpful for so many women, but also the designs are structured so to create shape. Thanks to ties, vests, draping and belts, there’s not a tent in sight.
Have you got a favourite label or shop that designs with fashion AND shape in mind?
