Spring is just weeks away.  It’s time to get armed and ready against the Australian sun.

Skincare company Neutrogena has just launched a range of sunscreen products that should do the trick nicely.

Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry Touch Sunscreen Lotion SPF 30+ $17.99

Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry Touch Sunscreen Lotion SPF 30+ $17.99

Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunscreen is the only product range in Australia to contain patented Helioplex technology, which provides broad-spectrum protection from UVB rays – the primary cause of sunburn – as well as UVA rays – the main cause of long-term skin damage and up to 90% of premature skin ageing.

The key to this new technology is that it’s not just about the SPF.  Helioplex absorbs hazardous UV light and then transforms it into infared light, or heat, which does not damage the skin.  This leaves the UVA and UVB filters to continue working and protect you.

The Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunscreen range is dermatologically tested and non-comedogenic, meaning it is suitable for all skin types. The range features both body and face options.  I, and 20 Styling You readers trialled the Sunscreen Lotion SPF 30+.

I loved the “dry-touch” technology which means the sunscreen is rapidly absorbed, has a light-weight, clean feel and leaves the skin powder-soft. The micronised silica powder in the new technology absorbs excess sunscreen oils and won’t clog pores – removing the ick factor often associated with sunscreen. As someone who lives at the beach, the four-hour water resistance is very welcome!

The range is now available in Coles, Woolworths, Priceline, selected pharmacies, Kmart, Big W, Target, IGA and other Independent Supermarkets nationwide.

  1. i was very disappointed by this product.  it will sting your eyes worse than tear gas, and not just once you start sweating.  i wore it simply walking around one day and could barely see.   it also stinks like bug spray, goes on like goop and doesnt absorb.  i had only the slightest of five oclock shadow but i had white junk on my face all day.  this product must be made for women.

Shortly after receiving Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry Touch sunscreen lotion 30+, I traveled to Africa for 4 weeks and what a better time to trial this lotion in full African sun with 40-45 degree heat!
I wore the sunscreen every day and I my skin felt so protected and never got sun burnt. It has a pleasant smell, its light on the skin and not oily. It does not give you a white face when you put it on and you can also use it on top of moisturiser without feeling too heavy. The shape of the lotion container is so convenient as its has a great screw on lid so it does not leak in your bag or hand bag. The shape also fits nicely in my make-up bag. I will highly recommend this product and will purchase it in the near future.- Kesty

I tried out the dry-touch sunscreen on a trip to the beach sunday and it was just beautiful. I absolutely love the smell, it reminds me of Frangipani flowers. The standout qualities of this product are that it isn’t sticky. It really is abosorbed by the skin very quickly. I didn’t end up with sand stuck to me, or feel like I had an inch of lotion on my face. After my day at the beach I didn’t feel slimy! Yay! Thanks for the opportunity to try it out. Will definately recommend it to my girlfriends for summer. – Heidi

Gone are the days of the thick, oily sunscreens clogging up your skin’s pores. The Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Suncreen goes on so easily and is rapidly absorbed; your skin is left feeling soft and plump. It’s amazing – this sunscreen does not leave the skin feeling oily at all. I’m told it’s to do with the micronized silica powder in the new formula, which absorbs any excess sunscreen oils. Whatever it is, it worked for my combination skin, which, at times, can really let me down with shiny patches. But now, with Neutrogena Ultra Sheer, I’m confident out in the sun knowing that this light-weight protection is providing broad-spectrum coverage against the harmful rays that can do so much long-term damage to my skin. Thanks Neutrogena. – Deb

I have been trialing it over the last few weeks and I think got most of its benefit over this beautiful weekend we just had.
I must say I actually quite liked it as it is nice and light yet fairly strong in its protection factor. It was great. I would definitely buy it and recommend it to others in future. – Michelle

After removing said lid, I sniff the sunscreen and notice it’s not the overpowering sunscreen scent and I’m so pleased. The scent is pleasant and mild – reminding me of mild moisturiser scent.
I squeeze some out and notice the smallest amount goes a very long way it’s a very deep white colour and is cool upon application.
Rubbing in the sunscreen I notice it’s not greasy, easy to apply and really isn’t shiny upon rubbing in. My skin feels smooth and mositurised after application and between the two comparable spots the skin where I haven’t applied it’s apparent there isn’t cream but this isn’t a bad thing in my mind.
All in all Neutrogena’s Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch SunScreen Lotion receives a 7/10 from me. I’m all for a product that will look after my skin in more ways that one and this product certainly does that. – Brooke (

Wore mine for the first time this weekend and I LOVE it. It doesn’t feel at all like you are wearing sunscreen. My skin felt clean and fresh and there was no sticky sunscreen residue. Fantastic!- Catherine

My first thoughts upon applying the lotion was that it had a lovely fresh smell instead of the usual sunscreen smell which I do not enjoy. I thought it was going to be quite thick and greasy on the skin’s surface but after a few seconds the lotion completely soaked in and left my skin feeling soft and moisturised. I am quite impressed. I don’t feel as though I am wearing sunscreen at all, and four hours water resistant – perfect. – Simone

I love the texture, it’s lightweight, absorbs quickly and isn’t oily. The only problem is it smells awful. Not quite sunscreen, more sunscreen that’s been masked by an odd floral infusion. A few of my fiends tried it too, all unanimous – feels great, smells funny. –
