I’m very thankful to the previous owners of our home. When they renovated the house they included lovely French doors that open onto a private courtyard. … and they also included his and hers fragrance cabinets in the bathroom, which has allowed me to easily ponder on a daily (sometimes twice daily) basis one of life’s big decisions: what fragrance suits my mood/outfit/occasion today?
Excitingly there are some vacancies on these shelves. I’m currently auditioning for the remaining spots and I must say the candidates are of extremely high calibre.
My man’s new addiction is 9IX Rocawear – a fragrance created in partnership with Elizabeth Arden. It’s every bit as manly as its exterior packaging boasts. It begins with a cool, contemporary mix of Asian coriander, mandarin zest and living cantaloupe and ends on a blend of golden amber, musk and rugged timber wood.
The pre-teen girl in our house is a bit of a Gwen Stefani fan and she’s got her eyes on the super cute Harajuku Lovers Fragrances – in particular the “G”. These bottles are show-stoppers and the scent is a modern mix of fresh coconut, jasmine Sambac and Cotton Woods.
Me, I’ve fallen head over heels for Chanel’s new take on its cult No. 5 fragrance. Wearing Eau Premiere feels like I’m sitting front row at a Chanel cruise collection showing – it’s summer couture for the skin and if this scent becomes a permament resident on my shelf, I just know that my other shelf dwellers will suffer from a serious case of neglect!
Stockists: 9IX Rocawear (available exclusively at Myer from November 16); Harajuku Lovers Fragrances (available from November 2 at Myer, David Jones and The Perfume Connection); Chanel No. 5 Eau Premiere (Myer, David Jones, selected pharmacies and The Perfume Connection)
