Corporate dressing is alive and well on the Sunshine Coast. We just prefer a more relaxed look to that of our city counterparts.
Now, by more relaxed, I don’t mean casual. I mean individual.
Here are some tips for achieving a Coast corporate look to call your own:
■ Make sure you have quality working wardrobe essentials. A black skirt, pair of pants and a jacket is a good starting point. Pay as much as your budget allows for the best fit and finish.
■ A crisp, white, quality cotton shirt or a soft, silk top will always have its place in a working week, however, as a wonderful contrast to tailored core pieces, combine layered knit pieces for colour and textural interest.
■ Don’t be afraid to incorporate dresses into your working wardrobe. Wrap dresses in jersey are not only flattering on all figure types but they don’t crease and will keep you looking polished from a breakfast meeting through to a dinner function.
■ Use accessories to create an individual look. This winter, add patterned tights and patent shoes or use a bold necklace to lift a classic-style dress.
■ The most versatile coat for a Sunshine Coast winter is a light-weight trench coat in black, grey or stone. It looks great worn open or button and belted – and works with any outfit, night or day.
