What a colour-packed week it’s been this week?
I love it when style challenges merge and that’s what’s happened this week with Vanessa from Style and Shenanigans – the most colourful Melbourne woman I know – giving us a daily colour prompt to shake up us out of our wardrobe rut even further in her #snscolour challenge.
It’s not too late to join. Today is orange. Tomorrow red. Sunday is purple.
I will struggle a wee bit with purple. Still haven’t recovered from it being the colour of my high school uniform. Not sure I even own one purple thing as a result.
Want even more everyday style prompts to keep you inspired and motivated?
The beautiful Andrea from Fox in flats is back with a new Style Dare for the month of March. Check out all the details and daily prompts here.
And Vicki from Shoppe Girls – a regular #everydaystyle player – is hosting 14 Day Icon Style Challenge from tomorrow. Everyone from Nina Proudman to Grace Kelly is featured. Details here.
SY #everydaystyle (the outfit you liked the most)
So last week you were very happy to see me in sequins, this week it was my most casual outfit that got the thumbs up. Thanks for the permission to dress with comfort.
I tell you, if I weren’t taking part in my own style challenge, I’d be in danger of wearing these “magic” pants every day. Seriously, they are so comfy but also make me look smaller than what I actually am. Magic, I tell you.
On this day, it was day one of the #snscolour challenge and I’ll let you in on a secret. I’d actually forgotten it had started. If you saw me early in the morning, I wasn’t wearing blue at all. Once I realised the error of my ways, I did a quick change into this chambray shirt I picked up for a song in the US in 2012. Wish I’d kept my Country Road 1990 original …
The Frankie4 loafers have already had a good run and I know we’ll be firm friends through autumn and winter. I love this colour as a nude shoe is always a flattering choice. This way I get flattering + comfort. And another confession, comfort has been needed. I was “carved” on the side of the ball of my foot last week in a pedi gone wrong. Excruciating doesn’t begin to explain how it felt and how it continues to feel. Very difficult place to heal.
Smaggle: Confession (seem to be making a lot of them today) … I stalked Smaggle long before I met her. Stalked her all the way to New York where on Twitter I made her meet up with a US blogger I love at a fashion bloggers conference. Yes, international social media stalking at its finest. I was in awe of her style. And her hair. I was surprised when I did finally meet her that she was younger than I thought she was. It wasn’t an age thing in regards to how she looked more so that she just rocked a style confidence I SO DID NOT HAVE at her age. She owns it. Every single time.
The Style Adviser: Jo is amazing personal style advocate for women in their 40s and beyond. She’s a Melbourne-based personal stylist who’s making it her mission to help women find their style and feel confident about that. I also love Jo’s style. It’s vibrant, on-trend and totally suited to her lifestyle and personality.
