How to shake up your makeup routine

We talked earlier this week about some of my quick ideas for keeping your style on a roll via makeup so I thought for today’s post over at The Hoopla I’d give you my tips on how to shake up your makeup routine.

It’s a bit of a reminder for me too ;)

I try to tell myself that technically it’s still summer holidays so it’s ok to be a bit lackadaisical in all areas of my grooming {well maybe not the shaving part as unshaven legs and other body parts apparently embarrass teenage offspring should you venture to the beach together} but the reality is that normal life is looming.

School will be back in two weeks. Meetings and work travel will resume.

It will be time to get my game face on so I may as well give myself a big bum-kicking now in preparation.

Would you like a makeup bum-kick too? Head on over to The Hoopla for my tips.

All these lippies pictured are new from Maybelline NY*. I’ll be taking a few of these bright puppies to Bali with me next week for some glam cocktail time. They’re in store now and $16.95 each.

I’m in make-up rutsville and definitely need a bum-kick! Something you wrote recently sent me off to clean out my make-up stash and it was all a bit ho-hum. Same colours, same brand, same same, same same. I’ve been wearing the same foundation for more than 16 years (EL Futurist SPF15). I’m pretty sure my 47yo skin is not the same as it was when I was 30. Sadly. So a new foundation is definitely on the cards.

Your Balinese adventure will help you stay in holiday mode for a while yet. Enjoy it!

Oh, I’m glad you’re looking at your foundation – it might still be ok but there would be a new best friend out there. And yes, looking forward to really embracing the holiday mode in Bali!
