What is the name of your online store?
What do you sell in your store?
Fashion, shoes, accessories from well-known international brands for women, men, kids and an eco clothing range (free trade and organic).
How did the idea for your store come about?
Many Australians buy fashion from Ebay or overseas sites, and unfortunately there are some associated risks, such as fake or counterfeit products or your credit card falling into the wrong hands. Many overseas stores may not have return policies or they may charge unreasonable shipping fees.
I had the idea of bringing together fashion from the US, UK and Europe from bona fide companies that have an established online retail business, selling the brands they advertise and taking secure payments with delivery and returns offered. I wanted ClubQT to be a one stop shop to buy international fashion, with customers paying overseas prices with the knowledge that they are shopping with safe and reputable stores. We now have 158 brands on our site, selling over 500,000 fashion items. These well-known brands include Dorothy Perkins, ASOS, Agent Provocateur, Bloomingdales, House of Fraser and Liberty of London.
What is your career background?
I spent 17 years working for international publisher Emap on titles such as Smash Hits, Barbie, more and Mother & Baby. I moved from Australia to the UK in 2000 and was lucky enough to move into digital publishing. launching Emap’s music and radio websites. Then in 2007 I worked for a start up in the UK called OSOYOU, funded by BrightStation Ventures which launched me into the entrepreneurial arena.
Who is your key customer?
Anyone who shops for fashion online, and those that don’t but love a bargain – we may be able to convince them to start online shopping!
How do you make it easy for your online customers to buy from you?
Join ClubQT and you get your personal ‘Fitting Room’ where you can keep all your fashion finds in one place. You can click and drag your fashion into this area to create an outfit. ClubQT converts all your fashion finds into Australian dollars so you know how much you are spending on an individual item or a whole outfit. Each product page also has shipping details, return policies and size guidelines for that store or brand, so you have all the information you need before you decide to buy.
Do you sell in person or in a physical store as well?
Just online, although many of our stores have physical stores in UK, Europe or USA.
