What is the name of your online store?
What do you sell in your store?
Cult, niche & boutique natural and organic skin care, hair care and cosmetics that do not contain Parabens, SLS, Petrochemicals, Phthalates, Artificial Perfumes and other nasties that just aren’t good for you.
How did the idea for your store come about?
A decade as a principal show girl and model in Paris left me physically, mentally and spiritually exhausted. I turned to yoga to help heal my body and keep me fit but ended up embracing the holistically healthy lifestyle it promotes. Yoga changed my understanding of what I thought it was to be a ‘healthy beautiful’ person.
The more I read and studied the effects of toxic living and in particular, the effect of toxic ingredients used in many commercial beauty products, the more I realised I wanted to do something about it.
The commercial beauty industry today has lost its way and forgotten what should be its core values of nourishing and enriching lives, not only profits and bottom lines.
Flora Organica is my way of supporting companies and a green beauty industry that care about their customer’s inner and outer beauty.
What is your career background?
My mother worked for Innoxa cosmetics for over 20 years so I had the most amazing makeup play box any little girl could dream of! Whilst these are not natural products, it did start my lifelong love affair with cosmetics, and credit card trauma.
I have always enjoyed mixing my own little concoctions, particularly face masks. There is just something so wonderful about a homemade face mask that you know is so pure you could literally lick it off, which sometimes if do if it’s my Cave Woman Chocolate, Coconut & Honey mask.
Who is your key customer?
Woman aged between 20-45. I am targetting three types of customers within this age bracket
1. Women who already use natural or organic beauty products.
2. Women who are focused on leading healthy lifestyle ( eat all or partially organic and do some form of exercise).
3. Women who are influenced by media (glossies/ bloggers) and have not yet thought to go natural, or may not believe in natural skincare being effective, especially for anti aging. I’m here to convert!
How do you make it easy for your online customers to buy from you?
The website is clean, fresh and modern to best showcase the products. The homepage is clean and uncluttered, letting the products speak for themselves.
The steps from searching to purchasing are simple and intuitive.
We are completely transparent and supply a full ingredients list for every product so you know exactly what’s in your product. It demonstrates that what you buy at Flora Organica is truly natural and not paying lip service to the trend.
Do you sell in person or in a physical store as well?

What’s next for your online store?
Increased educational information in our EDUCATION section.
A comprehensive easy-to-read ingredients glossary. This will allow consumers the ability to easily look up an ingredient by its scientific name, or by what I like to call its ‘plain english’ name, and understand its origin and benefits.
Also a greater focus on exciting Australian boutique brands, as well as more cult green beauty must haves from across the globe, so watch this space!
