Online shopping find: Zoemou

Who?
Zoe Sernack

What is the name of your online store?
Zoemou. But my products can also be found at The Iconic and The Grand Social

What do you sell in your store?
Jewellery

How did the idea for your store come about?
I realised how important it was to deal directly with my customers, but having an online store also means I can sell my one-off pieces on it, too.

What is your career background?
I am trained as an artist and while I exhibited my work, I worked in fashion stores. Soon designing and buying accessories for those stores, until I decided to have my own label. Now I have two: Zm925 and Zoemou.

Who is your key customer?
I hope I am very diverse in my customer base, from young festival, gypsy artistic girls to the strong feminine woman.

How do you make it easy for your online customers to buy from you?
I post my products up on Facebook and I also make sure that all customers can easily email me if they have any problems.

Do you sell in person or in a physical store as well?
Boutiques buy my jewellery but I only sell online, although sometimes I do markets such as Finders Keepers in Sydney.

Maka (earth) necklace

They say that we’re naturally drawn to shapes with our jewellery choices – I’m a sucker for hearts. Do you have a lot of flower pieces?

I do, now that I think about it. I usually find myself drawn to filigree and silhouettes.
