How did the idea for your store come about?
As sisters, we have always had a passion for shoes (what girl doesn’t?). After working long hours in the corporate world and learning plenty while there, we decided to combine our knowledge in business and retail with our passion for shoes and start our own venture.
We started in the business world by opening a small homewares store in Sydney. Although we had a brilliant time working together and managing the ups and downs, we felt that our key talents could be used for a venture we are in love with.
What is your career background?
Tracey’s career background is in the corporate world, working for respected corporations in upper management and handling project management.
Linda worked in sales for a short period before she joined her sister in opening their small business.
Who is your key customer?
We have no bias whatsoever in who our demographic should be. We believe a pair of killer heels can make any woman, from any walk of life, from any age group, feel fabulous. We sure do.
How do you make it easy for your online customers to buy from you?
From an online perspective, we are both very proactive in keeping touch with our customers. We always get back to our customers, answering any question within a reasonable amount of time. We continuously hear how great it was to get a warm, speedy and informative response from us. We believe this makes the customer gain confidence in the world of online shopping and feel ‘safe’ when shopping at Ary Ink.
Do you sell in person or in a physical store as well?
We predominately sell online. However, we are fortunate enough to have the support of some fantastic boutiques in Sydney who stock some Ary Ink favourites, including Dollhouse in Ryde and Castle Hill, Jatali in Bondi Beach and Apex Shoes in Paddington
