It’s Friday. Friday … (sorry for now putting that song in your head).
I’m so excited. Today’s it’s wrap day. Everyone said to me when I was planning my Fashion Week outfits that towards the end of the week it’s perfectly acceptable to just pull out the fashionista uniform of black.
And you know what? It’s just what I feel like doing … but with a colourful twist.
I’m feeling a little bit inspired (validated?) by the amount of orange I’ve seen on the catwalks this week so I’m bringing out my Gorman trench to play again. I’m probably committing some major Fashion Week crime by wearing the same thing twice but I care not for such unwritten rules.
If you’ve been reading this blog for a while you’ll know that I’m a big believer in wearing things over and over again – especially if they make you feel fabulous.
Since my orange trench does just that, it’s re-appearing for Day 5 at Fashion Week.
I can’t let the colour burst stop there though … enter stage left, green suede loafers from Zoe Kratzmann. Yep, I’m ditching the heels today … something I was also told happens as the week nears to a close.
I’ve really been enjoying playing with the new Maybelline New York makeup products which I’ve been given ahead of their July release. Many have featured in the Maybelline-sponsored shows at MBFWA. I can’t wait till you can play with them too.
I’m really taken with the Eyestudio Color Tattoos. They are little pots of colour loveliness and they really do give an eye colour that lasts all day. I’ve been playing around with colours I’d never have tried had these pots not been sitting there, winking at me each morning.
Today’s makeup look also features the new EyeStudio Master Shape Brow Pencil ($11.50 out in July). So many of the catwalk looks have had a strong brow focus and this is a great tool to have on hand to keep yours tamed and enhanced every day. I’m using the blonde shade (there’ll also be soft brown and deep brown) – it’s a subtle way to fill the brows and then I use the attached brush to brush them upwards.
What do you think? Green suede shoes and an orange coat? Too much like an upside carrot? Or a bit of colourful fun?
PS. If you haven’t caught this post where I let you in on some of the Fashion Week secrets … including how not to sit when you find yourself front row … check it out here.
