I’m sitting at Sydney Airport. (I actually love airports. Do you?)
While waiting for my flight, I thought I’d pop up a quick blog post to let you know my fun news.
This morning I walked into a beautiful flower-filled room on Sydney Harbour for the annual Jasmine Awards, hosted by The Fragrance Foundation in celebration of feature stories and online posts written about fragrances.
I was the “tourist” from Queensland out on the balcony taking photos of the Opera House and the Harbour Bridge.
The cream of Australia’s beauty journalists were in the room – not surprisingly they collectively have THE best skin in the business. Just beautiful.
Channel TEN’s Natarsha Belling hosted and opened proceedings by revealing that there had been about 1200 NEW fragrances released in the past 12 months alone. Fragrance guru Michael Edwards lists 12,500 in his book, Fragrances of the World. WOW! There’s seemingly no reason to be in a fragrance rut is there?
Yes, fragrances are BIG business – because at the heart of a fragrance choice are emotions and memories. Things that connect us … and make us feel a little bit special.
I wrote this post just before Christmas last year – a time when we’re often thinking about putting in an “order” for a new fragrance.
I thank each and every one of you who read it, commented on the post or left a Tweet or Facebook post …

Because it helped me to win Best Blog Post for the second year in a row. Double WOW … It’s not too early for champers, is it?!
More photos from the event (you have to check out the flowers!)
