Once upon a time if you wanted to do a beauty “try before you buy” your only options were the little sachets found in a magazine or a trawl of your nearest department store cosmetic counters.
In the last 12 months that’s all been turned on its head.
lovers obsessors across Australia are cottoning on that they don’t even have to leave the comfort of their own home to try the latest that the beauty industry has to offer.
Enter stage left, beauty sampling companies.
The beauty sampling craze is one that’s becoming increasingly big in Oz right now as Australian women become more savvy about their beauty purchases: Beauty Basket’s Nadia Stennett.
Beauty sampling companies work with leading beauty brands to provide a monthly box or pack of samples (some full size) to those who sign up as paying members.
So, no, you don’t get the samples for free but you do get them at a fraction of what it would cost to buy them in store.
It’s like a lucky dip each month as to what you’ll get but if you’re always up for a little beauty experimentation then signing up will not only lead you to find some hidden gems but you’ll save a tonne on fuelling your beauty obsession.
I’ve included a low-down below of three of the companies which have recently sent me beauty sample boxes*. My overall advice is to look around at what these and others offer for your $ and sign up with one or more that you think are most likely to send beauty products relevant to you.
You never know, just one sample in one box could lead to your next best skincare or cosmetic discovery.
