5 for Friday: super cute frocks from the DJs show

Once upon a time before the big bad GFC, retail giant David Jones used to have swish season launches in Brisbane, Melbourne AND Sydney.

These days it’s all about the Sydney bash. It’s celebrity and fashion media-a-rama.

Especially with DJs ambassador Miranda Kerr back front and centre catwalk (I wrote a little letter to Miranda … hope she gets it).

Anyhoo, I checked out the frocks from Wednesday night and found five super cute ones for you to have a look-see at.

I am a little concerned though because I thought this was the autumn-winter 2012 show. You might freeze you boobies off if you don’t have a good coat on your winter wishlist as well.

What do you think? Has winter fashion gone mad? When did winter become summer? Or has summer become winter? I’m confused. You?

Love Romance is Born – would work with a LS skinny top and ankle boots. I adore the Ginger & Smart – great for a dinner date. But, oh dear, if Miranda Kerr looks waistless and lumpen in the Kirrilly Johnston, how on earth are the rest of us supposed to pull it off? Shame as I love her stuff (although mine is her Maxshop diffusion line!)

I love the Zimmerman one and the Romance was Born one. At a stretch you could pop a white skivvey under either of those and look like a very fashion forward kindy teacher. The Dinningan one is ridiculously tiny and even Miranda looks like she’s swallowed a lemon in that shot.

Anyway How hot is Samantha Harris? What a gorgeous gal!!!

My pick would be the Romance Was Born One for the owl – so gorgeous – Nikki is this “little girl” design fashionable at the moment? Because on the esplanade at Mooloolaba there is a gorgeous shop with little black, mauve, blue and white carousel ponies on it….soooo gorgeous but my husband said it looked like a little girl’s dress – is that a trend?

OH! The Romance was born one is adorable! It looks like an owl! I think most of those dresses will have to be worn with a jacket, 2 pairs of stockings and boots for winter though!

Ooh, I’m loving that first Zimmermann dress – vintage and modern at the same time. Not so much with the owls though…

I guess they were thinking Winter with the boots in the last one. They dresses are still beautiful though and Miranda is fantastic! She’s my “who would you turn gay for” lol if you ever watched Rove Live you’ll know what I’m talking about

I think runway shows aren’t really what everyone will wear, maybe to a wedding hidden under a big coat until u get in the air con heat! I was surprised i liked some of the fab dresses but not in may! I’m sure as an ex DJs employee they have a great proper autumn range in store but it wasn’t sexy enough for the catwalk!
