5 for Friday: funnies

It’s a new year and Fridays have had a wardrobe edit here on Styling You. Don’t panic, I’ll still be dishing up plenty style tips throughout the week, it’s just that I think Fridays need a more relaxed approach into the weekend. Don’t you think?

So, each week I’ll dish up 5 of something (let me know if you have a theme you’d like me to tackle).

Today’s 5 includes five funnies I’ve found on Pinterest (you can follow me here) and one a girlfriend emailed me this week from Vail in Colorado. Yes, I was the first person she thought of when she saw the sign below. Does that surprise you? Any of you?

Buy anything you want

And, yes, for the record, she obeyed the sign and bought a fabulous new outfit.

machine wash

Don’t know about you, but if I see that tag, then the garment has Buckley’s of ever making it home let alone anywhere near my washing machine mountain … it unless it’s for “good” … speaking of which

good outfit

Word, Stylers … get out the good stuff every day. A bit like the cutlery our grandparents saved for good … what a waste. Fabulous frocks and shoes should be worn. At all times.

And, how is this for a more “real” take on fashion blogging? Gold.

Lastly, I just want to say, thanks for visiting my blog this week … I love you this much.

Happy Friday everyone … go have a fabulous weekend. We’re catching up friends for drinkies this afternoon and heading here tomorrow for a kid-free night. Excited. Much.

What are you up to?

PS. I’m talking grey hair over on Justb. this afternoon … come over and let me know what you think.

I love those pictures. I am so the one who doesn’t want to waste a good outfit on a bad day….maybe the good outfit could turn it around though!

I think it could Rhonda. I think it could.

I had that same irrational fear about wasting a good outfit on an insignificant day …. and then I had a child and I no longer attend events requiring a special outfit. New requirement is will grubby kids hands show up on this. The upside is I am fabulous at work much more often!

A suggestion for your5 on Friday theme …. how about taking one key item of clothing or an accessory and giving us 5 unique looks. Our household is in saving overdrive so I have to curb my shopping/spending habits and I’m looking for inspiration on how to get more out of less (or what I might already have).

    Enjoy date night x

    I like it!

I think five funnies would be great every week.

I love the images that people find around the place.

Thanks Claire … it won’t always be funnies but it will be light and fun. x

I love Number 3! It’s Murphys Law that I’ll crack a good outfit only to find out that the following day I have something much more appropriate to wear it to… Oh well probably an excuse to buy more awesome clothes
Thanks Nikki – great Friday smiles :)

Thanks Serena … we all need a smile on a Friday!

Hah! Nikki, I think my heart is bigger than my boobs. Word.

      LOL … and that’s a good thing!

So true! If it doesn’t go in the machine, it doesn’t get bought! That’s a rule.

Preferably no ironing required (although my husband is the ironing lady here).

“Do not wash or tumble dry” is really just code for: “Go on, try cleaning this yourself. Live on the edge a little….”

This might also explain why I ruined a $450 silk Zimmermann dress. Worn once.

    • http://www.stylingyou.com.au Nikki Parkinson

Oh, Bree … I’d still be crying.

    • http://www.prettyfluffy.com Serena

Don’t worry Bree – i’m a member of that club. ruined a dress and quite a few knitted items that way. I now live as per the third photo…if it requires ‘special’ washing treatment it better be a damn good occasion!! :)

I have a special relationship with my drycleaner and my special occasion stuff goes there for “holidays”!

Oh, enjoy that … that was me last weekend. I’ve made it through. Just.
