What do you sell
At Attic accessories we design and create a range of toiletry bags that are both functional and fashionable for today’s endless range of body and cosmetic products.
Our collection includes a range of bathroom bags in a variety of shapes and sizes – from small cosmetic wallets to large carryall travel bags and everything in between. While all products are designed with functionality in mind, our in-house designed fabrics deliver a touch of whimsy and nostalgia to the collection. Numerous internal pockets keep your goodies safe and sound while a waterproof coating (inside and out) ensures that no nasty spillages ruin your day! Attic accessories are proudly designed in Melbourne.
How did the idea for your store come about
The Attic accessories collection is already available through a number of retail outlets around Australia and New Zealand but we wanted a place where our entire collection was available to be viewed and purchased. We wanted our website to be more than just a catalogue of our products. So we created a store.
What is your career background?
Fran has a background in retail, motherhood and homemakership while Miranda is the designer and owner of Only midge (www.onlymidge.com.au) – an accessories label which includes an affordable range of kisslock and zip purses for gals along with a range of unisex satchels and belts. With our combined knowledge of retail, design and production, we noted that there were a lot of daggy, cheap, poorly made cosmetic bags on the market. We wanted to create a collection of bags that was functional but also beautiful. After a lot of hard work, Attic accessories was launched in August 2010.
Who is your key customer?
Ladies aged 15 years upwards, ladies who use makeup, ladies who travel and more generally, any ladies who just want to keep the bathroom products neat and tidy!

Our top sellers include: Hazel – our carryall travel toiletry bag. Hazel is waterproof inside and out and has three separate internal compartments to keep your products neatly organised. Hazel will fit full sized shampoo bottles with plenty of room for all the travel essentials. Hazel also has a swivel hook to allow you to easily and conveniently hang it on a doorknob, towel rack etc when your on the move. Pearl is another popular product. Pearl is a multipurpose purse. She is great for cosmetics, makeup or jewellery. Pearl has two separate, transparent internal compartments which allow you to easily organise your products. Finally Olive is our latest addition and she is proving to be very popular. Olive has two separate compartments, a detachable mirror and five slots for pencils or brushes. Olive is great for keeping your everyday makeup organised.
What’s next for your online store?
We hope to keep expanding the Attic collection. We are planning to introduce a men’s range along with a collection of larger overnight and weekender style travel bags. We’ve got a lot planned for the future, so stay tuned!
