This is the nail colour you’ll want to wear next

I don’t need to harness any beauty clairvoyant powers to tell you what colour you are going to be itching to put on your nails next.

No, Chanel has done that for me.

Or more specifically, Chanel’s creative director of makeup, Peter Philips.

This genius of a man created a white pearly nail polish exclusively for the Chanel spring/summer ready to wear 2012 show to work back with the underwater fairytale feeling of the whole show that featured a whole lot of white, pearls and shine.

Chanel has called this new colour Attraction and announced that it will be put into production and launched with the Lèvres Scintillantes Collection in April next year.

Here’s an idea, though.

Given that we’re launching into our spring-summer now, why not jump-start this nail colour trend with a similar colour already on the market? Are you seeing where I’m going with this? Who says we have to wait for the European and US spring-summer season?

Found a matt suede nail polish by Revlon at Myer. Very different look to the usual gloss polish, but I quite like it – will look great in summer. I bought Powder Puff colour, looked white in the bottle, but a bit lilac on.

  That sounds like a gorgeously different colour. Orly do a Matte top coat that can turn any colour into a Matte one – is fun for a change.

I’m not sure I can pull the pearly white off, so I’ve always gone for a vibrant colour. I always feel like I’m wearing white out on my nails like we did back in high school

It seems to do the rounds every few years Nikki. I can remember wearing it in the 80′s with a mod look I had happening. I must say I’m still partial to a very pale, pearlised pink on my fingernails but anything goes on my toe nails. I love dark reds, purples, pale blue, stickers and diamontes. That’s what I love about summer sandals. (Mind you, it’s just a dream of mine to have lovely manicured hands and feet. LOL)

  Some layering as suggested by CND above could work to be less transparent. And I missed it on Robyn. Was a fan of Renovators as Mel was my teenagers’ babysitter when they were little!

Argg I havent even tried the navy nail and now you show me this!! LOVE IT.

Maybe I’ll just skip navy and go straight to the OPI Kyoto Pearl it looks so pretty, so clean and crisp.
