Welcome to Fabulous Friday. Every week, I share a little about my week, the good stuff (I’m not into the negative), a little retail therapy and a few fun moments. Then it’s your turn. What made your week? Did you find a fashion bargain? See a great movie? Read an inspirational book? Let me know by leaving a comment below.
It’s been a week of just “getting back into it” after last week’s hibernation. And that’s a good thing. Was seriously concerned about my growing addiction to daytime TV, cups of tea and bed socks. And that damn ab circle pro was also testing my No-Buy-July policy. I was jolted out of the hibernation last Friday evening when I “temporarily” lost by Blackberry. My right arm. My office away from my office. We were out in Brisbane at my brother and sister-in-law’s local bowls club. I tell you, every suburb needs a bowls club like this. The kids are allowed to play football on one of the greens, you can buy about five drinks for the price of one at an uber trendy nightclub and when you fall over in the dark (completely sober!) and not realise that your phone has leapt out of your handbag on to the grassy verge, you can be assured that someone really lovely will hand it into the bar. And it will still be there after you’ve driven half-way home and back again. Clearly I need this pouch – but with a long chain to hang my Blackberry {life} around my neck!
Saturday was one of those very RARE days. A Date Day. Thanks to my father-in-law and sister-in-law, my husband (and ManLand blogger!) and I got to see Eclipse. At Gold Class. With a glass of wine and one of those sundaes. Bliss. No-buy-July was seriously tested again when wandering {kids-free} afterwards through Westfield Chermside. Don’t worry, I was very strong. I may have had my notebook out though, taking down details of this top at Country Road that hopefully will still be available in my size on August 1.
This week’s been a particularly exciting one {well, for me} in blogger land. I booked at ticket to Sydney for next Sunday to attend a Beauty Blogger event. Yes, the event will be a whole lot of fun and they’re will be lots of beauty goodies to play with and I’ll have lots to report. But do you know what I can’t control my excitement over? Meeting some of my the gorgeous women I’ve “met” via Twitter and Facebook. Women who have also embraced the online world. One blogger who’s been a trail-blazer in the female blogging sphere in Australia is Sam Winter (aka Sassi Sam). Sam’s been blogging since 2006 and her site is unashamedly girlie and first with the goss that counts. This week that essential goss was the announcement that Spanish-based retail giant, Zara, will finally hit our shores next year.
And speaking of blogs, in case you’ve missed some of the action this week at Styling You, make sure you check out these posts:
